Missions

"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."
Acts 1:8

CrossRoads has a significant missions focus and applies the Biblical direction of Acts 1:8 to our outreach. Under Pastoral leadership, a Missions Committee collectively and prayerfully evaluates local, domestic and foreign opportunities for service where congregational offerings and resources can make a difference in people’s lives, locally and around the world.

Domestic / Homeland Missions

"... and in all Judea and Samaria..."

CrossRoad's firmly believes in the concept of "Think Globally, Act Locally."

There are tremendous opportunities for service in our own area. To that end, CrossRoad's has a significant focus on homeland missions. The focal point of our effort is the Blackfeet Indian Reservation in Browning, Montana and specifically the South Piegan Mission, pastured by Rev. Gordon Monroe. While others have chosen to assist our Native American brothers and sisters in one time mission trips, the CrossRoads' vision is to commit to long term relationships, thus building trust and building on the concept of being used by God to assist in effecting lasting change over time.

Since 2005, this vision has been built upon by a dedicated and varied group of Crossroads members. We started building a small church from a doublewide mobile home and creating an activity center from a shed. These very modest beginnings have helped to build trust, fellowship and provide a place of worship for several reservations families.

With the current building and remodeling phases nearing completion, God is providing us with the vision to continue our efforts in Browning beyond hammers and nails. We are prayerfully working to create a scholarship program and other ways for the people to experience and pass along generational change.

The Holy Spirit is leading the Crossroads and South Piegan Missions efforts, and is on the move!

Foreign Missions

"...and to the ends of the earth."

While CrossRoads 2010 commitments have a primary Domestic/Homeland focus of the Blackfeet Indian Reservation and the South Piegan Mission, CrossRoads teams have traveled to the ends of the earth. Foreign Missions have included teams serving in Costa Rica, Albania, Mexico, Peru and British Columbia.

Foreign youth trip opportunities are generally available every other year. Read what some of the CrossRoads youth have to say about their foreign missions experiences on the youth page.

Additionally, CrossRoad's provides ongoing support for full time missionaries and short term support for church family member's service efforts. Current ongoing support assists the local Youth with a Mission program and the South Piegan Mission in Browning. Recent short term mission's support was provided for elder care and orphanage work in Peru, and a student deployed on Youth with a Mission in Borneo.

SENIOR HIGH MISSION TRIPS

Monthly Youth Outreach

We also encourage youth and families to join us as we reach out locally once a month. Please call the church office if you would like to join the youth on any of these outreaches.
