TODAY’S DEVOTIONAL THOUGHT

Man seeks advantage!  Do you know what God seeks?

Good morning sir!

Yes, this is day 12!  Can you believe it?  You are on a new path!  And this path is connecting your heart, which is the wellspring of life, to life, truth, freedom, and love found in Jesus Christ!  Join me in this prayer: “Lord, my heart cries Abba Father!  Take Your rightful place in my heart!   I join You right now, and keep my heart tuned to You all day!  Amen!”

I first learned this phrase from one of my Ukrainian friends.  He wrote:  “Man seeks advantage!   God seeks relationship!”  In yesterday’s prayer, did you notice this revelation: ‘How deeply intimate and far-reaching is His love! How enduring and inclusive it is! Endless love beyond measurement that transcends our understanding—this extravagant love pours into you until you are filled to overflowing with the fullness of God!’  Ephesians 3:19

This is relationship.  Pure and simple.  This is God getting under your skin.  This is supernatural!  And this is what God wants! 

However, man is forever wanting to gain advantage.  And even when men get awakened concerning Christ, men would prefer to get active and build something-just like we heard during our retreat.  But Jesus is different.

“What must we do, to be doing the works of God?”  And Jesus answered, “The work of God is this: to believe in the One He has sent.”  John 6:28,29

What a reversal!  God seeks relationship!  Period!  “Lord, forgive me for seeking advantage so often.  Forgive me for wanting to work for You before really knowing You.  Lord, Your prayer: “that they may all be one, just as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You, that they also may be in Us!”  (John 17:21) is being answered in me!  Amen!
