TODAY’S DEVOTIONAL THOUGHT

Who you are in your heart is who you really are!

Good morning sir!

Welcome to day #16!  Only 5 more days for our 21 day habit of seeking God first in our day!  Invite Him now!  Lord, I’m reading this in order to have Your Spirit touch me.  My heart is open to You!  Amen!

For 30 years I was involved in television production.  One of the things that you learn is that when the camera is capturing the first scene, with the main hero, what you show matters significantly.  Why?  Because everyone, in about 10 seconds, judges the economic status of this person, the fashion-consciousness of this person, the personal discipline of this person, the value placed on hygiene, modest or immodest, life under control or out of control, etc.  This is automatic because we have been doing this all our lives.  Comparing and judging by outward appearances.  But God never does!

So when you look at yourself in the mirror, what comes to your mind first?  Do you see someone you respect?  Do you see yourself  as God sees you?  God does not make mistakes.  And God cannot help but love His creation. And He created you and you belong to Him!  Don’t forget, He calls you the ‘light of the world!’  (Matthew 5:14)  Because He can only see you as He has designed you!

So, Lord, I need You!  I’m fixed on the external, just like Samuel was when he was looking to anoint the new king, ‘but You, Oh  LORD look at the heart.’ 1 Samuel 16:7  Lord, You are my inexhaustible treasure!!  “For where my treasure is, that is where my heart will be also!  Matthew 6:21 Lord, let my eyes be fixed on You, the ‘author and finisher of my faith!’ Hebrews 12:2 Amen!
