Good morning sir!  Welcome to day 4!  Please join me in prayer.  Lord, I pause right now in Your presence.  Speak to me.  Soften my heart to hear.  I want connection with You!  Amen!

Losing everything, sometimes helps us to finally see what’s important!

This is what David faced.  After his loyalty to King Achish was questioned, David was ‘put out.’  Now we see that David has been ‘put out’ now in several ways.  David was ‘put out’ of the palace because of the anger of Saul.  David was ‘put out’ when he hid from Saul.  Now, David was ‘put out’ because his false loyalty to the enemy king Achish was exposed.  But what God did next brought David even lower than this.

Have you ever thought you were in the deepest struggle possible in life when all of a sudden the struggle increases?  I certainly have.  Not long ago, we did a good deed by providing hospitality to someone.  He was in a car accident and was injured.  We helped him through this but then he decided to sue us for millions of dollars.

God allows certain things.  And when it seems that things can’t get worse, they can!

Just when David and his men were put out. They decided to go back to their city Ziklag and get their wealth, wives and children and be gone.  But when they got there, the city was burned, all their loved ones were kidnapped, and all their wealth was stolen. Now even his own band of mercenaries wanted to stone David.  David hit rock bottom!

Where do you go when you hit rock bottom?

David finally did what he should have done 18 months earlier.  “David refreshed himself in the Lord.”  1 Samuel 30:6.  And David called the high priest in order to submit his will to God’s will!

My prayer for today: Lord, I need refreshing in You!  I call on You!  I want Your will!  I’m in submission to You!  Amen!
