The Crossroads Mentorship program seeks to foster God-honoring relationships and encourage others in their walk with the Lord.
Are you willing to be a mentor in addition to being mentored?
We need mentors especially. People tend to like the idea of having a mentor, and sometimes feel like they may not be qualified to be a mentor. Be encouraged -- you probably bring more than you think.
Am I qualified to be a mentor?
You may think you need to be a walking Bible encyclopedia, have the entire Bible memorized, or be ready for your Sainthood application -- not the case!
Have you walked with God for a year or longer? Have you made mistakes? Do you have life experience good, bad or otherwise? Do you love God? Congratulations, you're qualified!
By the way, Noah messed up, and Moses, and David, and Solomon, and Peter, and Paul. God uses people who are willing — "Here I am, send me." Not perfect people, because there aren't any apart from Jesus himself.
We have had people who were only a Christ follower for a year paired up with a brand new believer. We aim to pair people who have walked with God for a longer time with people who have walked with God for less time.
Do I need any special knowledge or skills to be a mentor?
No. You need to believe in Jesus for your personal Lord and Savior.
